The Small Steps Story

Iโ€™m Rebekahโ€”sleep consultant, parent of two, perinatal mental health advocate, and firm believer that small steps can lead to giant sleeps.

Before I was doing this work, I had a whole career in corporate learning and development. My job was to teach people how to feel confident in their roles and succeed at their jobs. Then I had my first babyโ€ฆ and wow. Nothing prepared me for the exhaustion. There was no training manual, no step-by-step guide, just a fog of sleepless nights, 3am googling, and second-guessing myself.

Now, I bring together my background in teaching and my passion for infant sleep to help parents like you. My vision is to make sleep support feel like part of the bigger picture of caring for familiesโ€”just like feeding support or postpartum recovery and mental health.

Because truly, every family deserves a good nightโ€™s sleep.

Sometimes, but not always. Every family comes with different goals, comfort levels, and children at different developmental stages.

During our consultation, weโ€™ll explore whatโ€™s happening with your childโ€™s sleep and discuss approaches that feel aligned with your family. For some parents, that may include gentle, attachment-friendly sleep training strategies. For others, we may focus on shaping sleep through adjustments to routines, naps, feeding patterns, sleep environment, and soothing strategies.

Rather than using a single method for every family, my approach is to understand the whole picture and guide you toward solutions that feel supportive for both you and your child.

“Is sleep training safe?โ€

Yes. The methods we will use are gentle, attachment-friendly, and designed to support your babyโ€™s emotional needsย andย sleep needs.

“How long does this take?”

Many families are sleeping more within 2 weeks of consistency, but this can vary based on your goals and situation. We’ll collaborate to find the right fit for you and your baby.

Newborns up to 5 years.

“What are your credentials?”

I’m certified with Baby Sleep Consultant, with continuing education in infant feeding, secure attachment, sleep and neurodiversity, and perinatal mental health. Advocacy work includes chairing for the Ohio Perinatal Mental Health Task Force.
